Nowadays Asso has about 3600 inhabitants and in the past was the main town of the Vallassina. On 9th February people celebrate the festival of the patron Saint: St. Apollonia. On this day you can join religious cerimonies such as the consacration of teeth and you can walk and buy something from stalls. Once it was the most important local fair. In Asso there is the Middle School where all kids from the nearby countries attend  school. In Asso there are 2 very nice churches: St. Giovanni Church and Crucifix Church.
